DO YOU HAVE A STORE FRONT FOR PICK UP?
We do not currently have a store front, however, we do operate from a 10,000 sq. ft. commercially licensed and inspected kitchen. Meals are delivered to your home or work place each Monday morning. We offer free delivery to all Veterans United employees at any VU location.
WHERE DO YOU OFFER DELIVERY?
Within a 15 mile radius of Columbia and Jefferson City, MO! If you live beyond our delivery area or would like to arrange pick up at our commercial kitchen, please contact us before placing your order and we will do the best we can to accommodate you.
We deliver to your home or workplace and offer free delivery to all Veterans United employees at any VU location.
IS THERE AN ORDER MINIMUM?
Yes, there is a 5 item minimum.
HOW DOES THE WEEKLY MEAL SUBSCRIPTION WORK?
The weekly meal subscription is a great way to not only save money, but also make your meal prep even easier. You choose what plan suits your needs best and we take care of the rest; every week. We will select a variety of meals and rotate the menu each week to ensure you aren't stuck eating the same meals.
Keep in mind that you are always able to choose individual meals on your own if a weekly meal subscription doesn't suit your needs best.
DO I HAVE TO BE HOME WHEN MY ORDER IS DELIVERED?
No, your meals will come in an insulated cooler bag with an ice pack, however, we do ask that you leave a cooler on your porch for our delivery crew to safely leave your meals in if you will not be home to place them in a refrigerator right away.
WHEN IS DELIVERY AVAILABLE?
We currently deliver all meals Monday morning before noon to ensure you are able to have your week's worth of lunches and/or dinners before lunch time. If this delivery day/time doesn't work for you but you are still interested in our meals, please reach out to us to see if we can make other delivery or pickup arrangements.
Please note that all orders are due by 12 PM Friday for Monday delivery. Any orders placed after 12 PM Friday, will automatically be pushed to delivery the following Monday.
WHY CAN'T I ORDER MEALS AND GET THEM DELIVERED THE SAME DAY?
When you order online, we cook your meals fresh after your order is placed. Processing your order, preparing ingredients, cooking, cooling, portioning, packaging, and distributing the food takes almost 72 hours and ensures you get the longest shelf life and freshest food possible.
WHAT MAKES THE MEALS HEALTHY?
Our menu is nutritionally balanced and made with quality ingredients. All of our meals are designed by our chef and certified nutritionist to contain a healthy balance of macronutrients. We use lean, antibiotic and hormone free proteins, slow digesting carbohydrates, and healthy fats.
ARE THE MEALS FRESH OR FROZEN?
Meals are always fresh!
ARE THE MEALS GLUTEN FREE?
Most of our menu is naturally gluten free. Please look for "GF" in the item description online. We are extremely cautious when packaging the meals, however, if you have a severe allergy please note that our facility is exposed to all seven major allergens.
HOW LONG DO THE MEALS LAST?
Meals will last 5-7 days upon delivery. The "Best By" date on the container is the LAST day we recommend eating the meal for the freshest experience. If you are unable to consume before that date, we recommend freezing for no longer than one month.
CAN I CUSTOMIZE MEALS?
We are unable to accommodate special requests or changes to any entrees due to the volume of meals we produce.
ARE THE CONTAINERS MICROWAVE SAFE?
Yes, the container and the label are both microwave safe and BPA free.
I'VE RECEIVED MY FIRST ORDER; WHAT DO I DO WITH THE INSULATED BAG/BOX/ICE PACK?
We sanitize them and re-use them to help pass savings along to our customers. Please leave your bags/ice packs for our delivery crew to pick up each week.
